Over the past few weeks I had been seeing this story recommended by a great many of my friends, and I mean they were gushing over it. I'd planned on waiting until it was complete to begin reading it but decided to go ahead and give it a try. I cannot say how happy I am that I did. My Wounded Soldier is 35 chapters long and counselor updates extremely fast.

I am nowhere near caught up on all the chapters. Have I mentioned that they are long chapters?   Extremely long, fulfilling chapters that immediately transport you to another time. 

My Wounded Soldier is set in the post Civil War period.  Edward returned from the war a broken, disillusioned man.  His brother Garrett, who was the apple of the family’s eye, was killed during a battle and Edward can’t get past the guilt he feels about his failure to save him.  As he returned home, he made the decision to leave the family home and travel out West to start a new life. He feels unworthy of his family’s affection and thinks his life will be better  if he starts fresh in a place where no one knows or cares about him. 

 

Bella and her husband Riley live down the road on a neighboring farm.  They have a young son, Johnny, and Bella is due to deliver their second child when tragedy occurs. Riley’s father paid someone to take Riley’s place in the war, and after the soldier’s wife took her children and left him, he came back for revenge on Riley and his family.  After her husband was killed, Bella shot and killed the enraged man, which instantly sent her into labor.  Johnny went for help and came back with Edward in tow. 

Edward safely delivered Bella’s baby and a strong bond begins to grow between them.

I don’t want it to seem like I am giving away the entire story, but all this happens in the first chapter! Talk about a whirlwind!

What I love so much about this fic is counselor’s writing.  It reads more like a novel than a fanfic. She is meticulous in detail and her attention to the language and situations of the time is outstanding.  It boggles the mind to think of how much research she has done to make it so authentic.  

The story is mostly written from EPOV and his inner turmoil is fascinating to read.  The other characters are also well developed and her, in the story, Bella is very strong.  I highly recommend My Wounded Soldier to anyone who likes historical fanfics or simply enjoys a well-written quality story.

 I first heard of Lissa Bryan when I was bouncing around FB groups. I found her gabbing it up with the ladies over at the Underfictionated group. I was intrigued by a thread she was posting in and decided to check out her FF profile. I scanned through her list of stories until this one caught my eye. It was different to say the least…

I have never, in all the time I’ve been reading FF, read a fic that had anything to do with Bella hating Edward to the point of wanting to off him. And this Bella, well, that’s exactly what she wants to do.

Here’s the details…

After Edward leaves Bella in the forest, he says it was for her own well-being, Bella is thrust into a whirlwind of emotions. Not only does she turn completely whacko, her complete state of mind is tested. Bella has become so withdrawn and hateful, over the voluntary disappearance of her one, true love, she catapults herself into a life of vengeance.

Let’s just say that the lowdown men of Forks are not safe from this altered beauty.

My surgeries weren't so dramatic as to be noticeable when I wear my plain, baggy everyday clothes with a bare face. Nature's flaws had been corrected, my face made symmetrical, my weak chin and slightly pug nose corrected and my bust enhanced.

I have never read something as deviously intriguing as Savior. It pulls you back and forth, leaving you wanting more, and pulling at your hair!. You instantly root for the damaged damsel, but at the same time you yearn to make her see ‘the light’, giving her the sign that ‘Love Conquers All’.

Unfortunately, I don’t think the damsel in this story is up for much therapy!

I guarantee, you will either love it or hate it, but in the end you won’t be able to tear your eyes from reading it!

As for me, well, I loved it!

Let me start by saying that I love, love, love bnjwl's stories! She writes with such passion and eroticism it makes your ovaries want to explode and your lady bits swell up and ache for more!

And this story, Seduction, does just that!

In the story we have an older doctor that gets a visit from his best friends' young daughter, Bella. Anyhoo, Bella brilliantly comes up with a rouse that she is experiencing back pain. Well, what our resident doctor, Edward, doesn't know is that she's bluffing him in the hopes of getting him all hot, bothered, and naked!

And sweet, not-so-innocent Bella does just that and, let me tell you, it gets hotter from there!

(It starts with sweet, tasty touches)

"But, Edward, no one will know." She traced a hand down the front of my shirt right beside the buttons.

I died a little when I heard her purr my first name. It was such an erotic sound that came from her. I wanted to throw my head back and just moan at the sound alone, but I had to convince her that this was not a good idea at all.

(Then sweet, savory kisses ensue)

"Please, baby, let me feel you. Show me how you can take care of me. Just for the summer, then I'll go off to school and not look back with regrets, okay?" She tilted her head up to me; it just left her mouth open for me to kiss her.

My kiss would show her my acceptance of her offer. I knew I was probably going to go to hell for this, but if I was going anyway, I might as well have a good time on my way there. My hands pulled her towards me and kissed her.
